How we rank agencies

Every case study is scored the same way, and an agency's position on a category page is the combined score of its case studies in that category. Here's the full breakdown.

What earns a case study points

Client-verified (the client confirmed the results)Dominant

Recent (fades out over 5 years)Small

"Dominant" is deliberate: verification is worth far more than everything else on this list combined. That's so one confirmed case study reliably outranks any number of unconfirmed ones — an agency can't out-volume a competitor's verified results by simply publishing more claims. Unverified case studies still earn real points from the smaller factors, though, so they're ranked sensibly against each other rather than all tying at zero. How an agency's case studies add up to a page ranking

An agency's score on a category page isn't just its best case study, and it isn't the sum of every case study it has either. Each additional case study counts for less than the one before it — the strongest one counts in full, the second- strongest counts for less, and so on. That's intentional: it rewards agencies with several strong, verified results without letting a large pile of thin, unverified case studies out-rank a competitor with a handful of genuinely strong ones.

One more thing this means in practice: a case study only counts toward a category page if it actually lists that service. An agency showing up on /seo is ranked by its SEO case studies specifically, not its case studies for other services.
